Tory Party - A Multinational Profit Seeking Sect

Tory Party - A Multinational Profit Seeking Sect

From Revd Paul Nicolson of Taxpayers Against Poverty

Will Hutton's piece in The Observer this morning.

His analysis of the current conservative party as multinational libertarian sect whose preoccupations are the seeking of risk free profit tucked away in tax free overseas accounts adds a modern dimension to Marxist analysis. Marx identified class conflict as the lever for radical social change. That conflict is here in the UK for those with the eyes
,
or the imagination
,
to see it. Disgust and a passion for change are felt by many of us at the opulence of the political parties' fundraising dinners while millions of UK citizens are hungry. Some visit food banks and
the
Churches
,
who dole out minimum rations for a few days.

It definitely does not follow that Christians
,
who recognise class conflict for what it is
,
sign up to violent revolution; but the injustice of current laws imposing inadequate incomes and unaffordable housing on the already impoverished, and a growing proportion of the population, will certainly lead to non-violent direct action in the tradition of Mahatma Gandhi, Frederic Bonhoeffer, Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela.
