At Kilburn Times article page Brondesbury Park residents have two weeks to oppose homeless hostel on their doorstep(1), Wembley Matters(2) blogger Martin Francis has placed this comment:
"Perhaps Conservative Cllr Shaw should haven word a with her Conservative government about policies that makes people homeless - soon to be extended to 18-21 year olds."
Perhaps
others would like to comment on this matter via the comments space at
that Kilburn Time article page or via a blog piece?
Meanwhile, I was amused by this NIMBYist paragraph because of something that happened under LB Haringey in Tottenham:
Rob Churm, 46, who founded the action group said: “There are a lot of parents with children and plenty of vulnerable and elderly residents living here and many are concerned about increased risk from the hostel, especially as hostel users will have to walk through the estate to get to the block.”
Q: "Well, what did happen in Tottenham?"
Maybe
the 'residents action group' members are among those aspiring to buy
their social housing home at reduced price, as per the recent Tory
General Election Manifesto? Maybe we could invite one of the opponents
of this hostel to a KUWG meeting as 'guest speaker' — but maybe with more time for them to answer questions than they would feel really comfortable with?
